Robert Pattinson updates for today

Robert Pattinson gets script preview:

Stephenie Meyer might have written the novel Twilight but it was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart who made the movie such a big hit.
Their costar Edi Gathegi (who plays Laurent) seems to think that Robert is getting some special treatment.

Edi hasn't read the script for New Moon yet and told MTV half-jokingly: "I'm going to fire someone, because Robert (Pattinson) read it.
"He's like a supporting role in the freakin' film!"
Edi considered calling Rob during the interview to ask him to pass on the script but said: "Nah, he's in London now. I don't want to make any long-distance calls. I'm cheap."
It's such a shame that we won't be seeing Rob's character a lot in New Moon but his fans are hoping that there are lots of flashbacks of their favourite vampire.
After all, we all need a bit of Rob in our lives!

Robert Pattinson reveals Twilight DVD extras:

He told fan site robertpattinsonoline: "There's quite a lot of stuff. We fought the big fight scene at the end within the first week, and I was really convinced that the way I established the character arc that Edward needed to be 100 percent demonic in the last fight. "The monster", which he always says he is to Bella, I wanted him to become that at the end.
"I kind of psyched myself up a week to do this nuts fight. As soon as I started doing it I don't think anyone expected me to do it like that so they were like, "Uh, tone it down." I had maybe thirteen takes where my direction was "tone it down," on every single take.
"I had no idea what was going on. I would love to see what the first take was, especially after seeing the final thing with one bit of the fight with me and Cam. Where we were growling at each other, where we both were really into it like we were vampires.
"When we watched the playback afterwards, there was a big bright light and we didn't realize, we thought it was kind of dark and you could just see these two guys, one with a bouffant hair cut and the other with his abs just there like "Argh!"
He added: "It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life. I hope that's on the DVD, it's quite funny.

Robert Pattinson struggles with his looks:

Millions of girls might think that Robert Pattinson is the best looking guy on the planet but he isn't so sure.
When he was asked by the Times Online if he thought he was good looking he replied: "Good-looking? Noooo.

Before I have to go out to face a crowd, I stare and stare at myself in the mirror until I have to tell myself to stop staring, since there's nothing I can do."
He finds it hard to live up to the expectations of his young fans.
Being popular is not something Rob is used to. At school he was a bit of a loner.
Rob explains: "I wasn't with the cool gang, or the uncool ones.
"I was transitional, in between."

Robert Pattinson's student snub:

We are so glad he didn't go to uni because he might have missed out on the opportunity to play Edward Cullen in Twilight.
Rob told the Times: "Even when I was 17 and I'd go to a student bar, I'd think, get me out of here.
"Not that I got accepted into any universities...not one."
Rob's parents are thrilled that his acting career has really taken off.
He added: "It's hard for them because they want to be proud of me, but I keep reminding them that it's all luck. Luck is what got me here, nothing else."

Robert Pattinson's heartbreak at film premiere:

Robert Pattinson had his heart broken at the premiere of Vanity Fair.
He was eighteen at the time, and had no idea that just a few years later he would be the most popular young actor on the planet.

Robert explained what happened to the Irish Times.
He said: "It was my first real job."
"I went along to the premiere, but nobody had told me that I had been cut out. I didn't realise until the film ended."
It did all turn out for the best though.
Rob says: "The casting agent was the same one who did Harry Potter. They felt so bad about it they gave me an early meeting for the next Harry Potter film. And that went well."
Rob was given the part of Cedric Diggory and was recognised for the first time.

Robert Pattinson is homeless:

Robert Pattinson hasn't had a home since Twilight was released.
When he was asked by the Irish Times where he lives he replied: "I really can't answer that question.

"I get mail at three different addresses. I used to have a nice, tiny apartment in Soho and I miss not living out of a suitcase.
"But I wouldn't say I really want to put down roots either."
Some fans think that Rob will change his tune if he meets the woman of his dreams.
He doesn't seem to think so: "I have been skipping off around the world for ages.
"And I have somehow managed to keep the same friends throughout all that time. We all do things where we are leaving home for ages. That's par for the course.
"But I never have much of a social life anyway."

Robert Pattinson is bad news:

If Robert Pattinson ever met your parents he would tell them he was bad news.
Rob was being being interviewed by the Metromix Baltimore when he was asked what he would tell parents who thought he was bad news.

Rob would tell them: "You're right." And the girl would like me even more."
The Twilight hero doesn't think his character Edward Cullen has to appeal to parents.
He said: "He's a vampire, he's a social pariah. He's not a role model.
"He's a parasite. That's the cool thing about it.
"I don't think a vampire has any responsibility to anybody."

Robert Pattinson's big desire:

Robert Pattinson has a lot planned for 2009.
The actor has been keeping himself busy since the Twilight premiere.

When he was asked by a MTV presenter 'Have you been working on anything new, any new projects?'
Rob replied: "I've been trying to get healthier...that's my project at the moment."
Rob isn't the only New Moon cast member trying to get fitter. Taylor Lautner is trying to put on muscle to play Jacob Black.
Robert added: "I've been trying to improve my spelling and yeah spelling has been a big one for me at the moment.
"I had to change my bank account details and also I had a parking ticket the other day...it's an ongoing project."

Robert Pattinson's murder wish:

Robert Pattinson isn't as innocent as he looks.
He really wants the chance to try out more vampire stuff in the next two Twilight films.

Rob told G4: "I want to flip out and kill a whole crowd."
He does admit that being Edward Cullen is tough though.
Robert added: "I'm terrible at stunts. I mean I picked up so many injuries during this job.
"Nothing terrible...terminal groin chafing from the harnesses.
"Always wear padding to be a vampire."

Robert Pattinson's face shame:

Robert Pattinson doesn't like watching films that he is in and prefers to just read reviews instead.
The Twilight star's face is on millions of posters around the world but Rob accepts that it's just part and parcel of being an actor.

Rob told MTV: "It's funny because I don't really think the poster looks like me.
"So I never really get recognised. The only place people recognise me is in LA...thats pretty much the only place."
Life hasn't been the same for Rob since he agreed to do Twilight.
He added: "I literally go to planned mobbings. I just keep doing that. It gives you a strange opinion of yourself.
"You just go to different cities, to different series of mobbings."

In Photos - Robert Pattinson wants to date you:

Robert Pattinson might the best looking actor around but he is still looking for his perfect woman.
Millions of girls would love the opportunity to date the Twilight hunk but just in case you're still making your mind up we've found out where Rob would take you on a date.

Your averege guy would probably choose to go see a film on your first date but Rob insists a candlelight dinner would be best.
If he was buying you a present he would surprise you and your first holiday away together would be on a beach.
Rob admitted to ITN showbiz that he would out with his mates on Christmas Eve though. We reckon that's okay - after all he would be spending Christmas Day with you!
When he was asked if he preferred his American or British fans he replied: "I can't answer that."
That's fair enough, after all it means we all stand an equal chance of being Mrs Robert Pattinson!

Robert Pattinson is the perfect boyfriend:

Robert Pattinson is sick of getting up early.
The Twilight star has been so busy jetting all over the world that he hasn't had time to relax.

He just wants to have some time by himself before filming for New Moon starts.
Everywhere he goes he is greeted by screaming girls but he tries to live as normally as possible.
Robert told Dose.ca: "I accept it...I just have a very strange job."
He isn't that surprised that teenage girls view his character as the perfect boyfriend.
Rob explains: "It's weird but girls always seem to do that. As a guy you look at girls and think 'What do you see in him.'
"Nice guys always come last."
We just hope Rob stays good and doesn't turn to drink and drugs like many young actors have in the past.

Extras: When a fan asked him if a girl had ever asked him out he replied: "I've never been asked out on a date...or maybe I have.
"It can't have been very memorable."
Robert was actually being interviewed for a radio show at the time and took off his jacket halfway through.
When he was asked why he was stripping off he explained that he had dandruff adding: "I'm such a sex symbol right."

Robert Pattinson's movie help:

He was quite shy and timid so liked to dream he was like characters in his favourite films.

Robert revealed all to Rottentomatoes.com.
He admitted: "The films that I like aren't necessarily because they're good films in themselves — One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a good film — but that one specifically meant a lot to me.
"Not because I was in a mental home or anything, but that character influenced me so much when I was 15 or 16, and bits of it stuck with me.
"A lot of that kind of "putting your middle finger up to the world" attitude — not that I really have that, but... I used to be so timid, and that was one of those films that helped me break out, by pretending to be (Jack Nicholson's character) Randle."
Rob also loves The Exorcist, Breathless, Corky Romano and ivan's xtc.
